Assignment: 8.
Book Report -- Biography
From the OW project page:
A biography is the story of a real person's life, but that story is told by someone else. Some biographies are completely true. They tell exactly what happened to a person. Other biographies tell about real people's lives, but the author adds things to the story that didn't really happen to help complete the story. These partly-true stories are called biographical fiction.
In a library, the biography books are usually located on the shelf after the history books. Biographical fiction books are either shelved with biographies or are located in the fiction section.
Choose one the books from the book list for your biography report. (See OW Project page.) Let me know what you choose. Type the title and name of the book in the OW Help box before you begin reading.
Click HERE for the book report worksheet.
Print it and complete it. I want to see your neatest work! :)
You may scan it and upload the file. If you take a picture of your paper to send to me, please type the written part in the OW box after writing it on the paper. If you have questions about what is required, please read through this again. Then ask if you need help. (You are required to send a picture or a file of the complete worksheet.)

Informational Report 16
Informational Report 16
You will follow the directions in OW. When you are ready to begin writing start by drawing out a graphic organizer. A graphic organizer is like a picture outline of sorts. You can make your own. On a piece of paper draw a circle in the middle. This is where you will write a word or two for your main topic. Then draw lines out from the circle for each subtopic or detail. At the end of each line draw a circle. In those circles you will add a word or two that is a detail about the main idea. Additional details about each subtopic (if any) can be written beside the little circles. You will use all your notes from the graphic organizer to write your paper. Use good writing skills and put your sentences together into a well organized paragraph. (Send your paper to me in OW and send a picture of your graphic organizer to me over Skype.)
Remember a graphic organizer like this can also be used to help you organize and write an essay with more than one paragraph. The middle circle would be the main idea of the essay (title). The smaller circles would be the main idea of each paragraph. Beside each of those you would write a word or two for the details for each paragraph.
When you have your writing project completed load your essay to the file area. Remember to include the heading with your name at the top of your paper. Also remember to include a title on your paper. And finally, begin the saved file name with your first name and last initial along with the project name or title of you essay. Example: Sally J Informal Report.docx. Your graphic organizer will need to be sent over Skype.
