Project: Characters and Point of View (3)
When writing a short story, it is important to have a starting point. In this project, you will start creating your characters. You will have several smaller projects that will culminate in one large project—your actual short story.
You will be creating a character sketch in this lesson. A character sketch is a short description of a character that allows you to know the basics of the character. It is a type of summary.
You will create three character sketches using the provided worksheet (see OW project page).
Download the worksheet on the OW page and include the info for each of your THREE characters. Please type your info in a Word document. Then upload it to the file area. You do not need to include EVERYTHING that it suggests, but enough that I know what your characters are really like.
I look forward to reading about each one of your characters. :)

Project: Writing the Short Story (15)
Instructions:
Apply knowledge of literary elements to create an original short story.
Begin by reading through the project page information. Follow your plot diagram that you created earlier. You already have taken much of the guesswork out of the writing. Follow your plans and designs that you have already written throughout the unit. :) Your story should have a beginning, middle, and end. It should grab the reader's attention and take the reader through a story all the way from the beginning to the end. Make it interesting. :)
After you write it out, go back through to proofread it.
*Read it aloud. *Make needed changes. *Type your work in a Pages or Word and save the document. Load it to the file area on the OW page . :) I will not accept stories that have been typed in the OW box.
***I am excited to ready your story!***

Project: Final Story (18)
If this is assigned, you will need to review your paper you submitted for project 15. Read the notes I left on your paper and make the suggested changes. Spend some more time proofreading your paper. When you have made the necessary changes, submit your paper by uploading it to the file area on the OW project page. :)
