Project: Book Report-Animal Stories
Charlotte's Web
From the OW Project page-
Fiction is literature (stories) created in the imagination. A fiction author makes a story up by pretending and then writing about what he or she pretends. Fiction stories are often based on people, places are things that are real. If a fiction story is believable it makes you feel a part of the story and it can teach you as much about life as a true story.
As you work through this unit, you are going to read the fictional story, Charlotte's Web, for part of your language arts lessons. You will be required to read a few chapters of this book or complete a Charlotte's Web worksheet each day as you work through the unit. I have included a schedule below for you to carefully follow. ***Click HERE to use the online version of the book. You may also check the book out from your local library if you prefer.
As you go through this Language Arts unit, you will also work on this project each day using the schedule below. :) You may read the book to yourself, read aloud to a parent, or take turns reading with a parent. If you have a school laptop and use the online version of the book, you may use the MacBook speech feature. (Highlight the text you want to read, hold down the option key and press the +/= key.) The computer can read to you while you follow along with the text. If you follow along in the text, you will want to be sure to record the time on your Reading Log too. :)
Each scheduled day after you complete the reading portion of the book, you will also have a Charlotte's Web Activity Worksheet to complete. You will compile these worksheets into a booklet. When you finish reading the book and have your booklet completed and put together, we will use Skype to go through it so you can share your work with me. :)
