Assignment: 2. Project: Book Report -- Biography
First read about biographies on the OW project page. Then choose one of the books from the book list (on the OW assignment page) for your biography report. If you have a different book (biography) you would like to ask about using instead, please use the help box to check with me first. Once you choose your book be sure to send me the title and author in the Ask for Help note so I know you are working on it. :) Remember to type a message in the Ask for Help Note box each day letting me know how many pages or chapters you read each day. Include the date too (1/15). Remember this step, please! :) This is part of your grade for daily participation. :)
Project Directions:
First make and color a sack puppet OR draw and color a portrait of the person your book is about. Upload a picture of your finished project to the file on the OW page or share the file with me through Skype.

3. Write *three interesting facts you learned about the person your read about so you can teach me something about him or her I might not know. :)

Assignment: 9. Essay: Writing a Fable
A fable is a short story, typically with animals as characters, that teaches a lesson. Click HERE to read the fable, The Three Fishes Retold from the Panchatantram by Rohini Chowdhury. Then follow the directions below.
Answer in the OW box:

3. How can you use this lesson in your life?
ESSAY: WRITING A FABLE
4. Now it is your turn. Write your own fable teaching a lesson on "Haste makes waste."
Haste makes waste means that if you try to do something quickly, without planning it, you're likely to end up spending more time, money, etc, doing it. Limit your fable to just one or two paragraphs (no more). Include a title. Type your story in a Word document and upload it to the file on the OW page. Remember to proofread with a parent before turning it in.
