Assignment: 2. Essay: Short Story

Directions: Remember to type your paragraphs in Pages (or a Word document) and upload to the OW file area.
1. Read the story in the first link above. Then write a short plot summary of the story (one paragraph).
2. Read through the second link above. Then write a response ( a few sentences) that answers this question: What elements make a short story? Put your answer in your own words.
3. Finally choose four words from the story that are new to you.
- Include the four words on your paper along with their definitions.
- You may use the dictionary and contest clues to find the meaning.
- Write the meaning of each word in such a way as to show you now understand what each one means.

Limerick Pattern:
A limerick has five lines. The first two lines rhyme with the last line. The third and fourth lines rhyme with each other, and are shorter than the other three. A A B B A
Directions:
1. Find two limericks. Use Internet to help you.
2. Type them in the OW box.
3. Typed the author's name and the website address where you found them.
4. Then write a limerick of your own being sure to follow the correct pattern. A A B B A Be sure to put your name on the one you write. :)
Note: You do not need to label the lines in each limerick, but you do need to use the correct pattern.
