Project: Nutrients (3)
Food-A-Pedia Website
Click HERE to view the SuperTracker website. Use the Food-A-Pedia option located on the left side of the page. There you can look up nutrition information for over 8,000 foods and compare foods side-by-side.
Look at the website. Choose two foods to compare and use the site to get information about each. List their nutrients (daily percentage values) to see which one is more valuable. Then do it again for two more foods. :) I will be checking to see that the nutrient list and percentage values are realistic, indicating that you have actually researched the various food products. :) You can use this site anytime for "looking at what you eat." :)

PROJECT: MY PLATE (9)
CHOOSEMYPLATE.COM
Use My Plate to evaluate the foods you ate yesterday.
Determine how many plain servings of each food group you ate yesterday for one meal. Start by listing everything you had for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. For instance, if you ate a slice of pepperoni pizza, you could count the crust as grain, the cheese as dairy, and the pepperoni as meat.
Don't forget to include what you drank as well.
Click HERE to visit the MY Plate website. Click on the My Plate tab (top left). Look at the "Choose a Food Group" page. Click on each food group listed and look for each of the food items you listed for what you ate yesterday.
For example: Find Chicken.-
Then click on chicken to see the details.-
Chicken breast ? 1 small breast half, cooked-Protein
Foods Group: counts as 3 ounce equivalents protein foods. Write the details in the OW box beside each food item you ate. :)
